The HCRC Annual Report of Activities 2025

Thanks to the generous support of the Hawaii Community Reinvestment Corporation (HCRC), I began my appointment as the HCRC Professor in Affordable Housing Economics, Policy, and Planning in Fall 2024. This position has allowed me to maintain a nationally focused research agenda while also engaging with housing policy in Hawaii.

The HCRC endowment has been especially valuable in providing flexibility to travel to seminars, conferences, and institutions to connect with other researchers working on similar research agenda–activities not typically supported through standard funding sources. For a junior scholar, these opportunities are especially critical. They increase the visibility of my work, foster new research collaborations, and connect with scholars, policymakers, and practitioners working at the frontier of housing research. Many of the research projects described below would not have been possible without this support.
