University of Hawai’i Economic Research Organization (UHERO), Social Science Research Institute (SSRI), College of Social Sciences, University of Hawai’i at Manoa (Honolulu, Hawai’i) invites applicants for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a 9-month, full- time, permanent, tenure-track faculty appointment to begin as soon as January 1, 2026, subject to position clearance and availability of funds.
Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, Mentor and advise students, Conduct applied research in public finance and taxation, both independently and as part of UHERO’s partnership with the State Department of Taxation, Publish in peer-reviewed academic journals, Serve as principal investigator on extramurally funded projects, Collaborate with UHERO researchers on projects related to state and local public finance, Contribute to UHERO’s core mission to inform public policy by staying abreast of local and national tax policy and sharing expertise and research results with state and local policy makers and stakeholders, Provide service and outreach in congruence with UHERO’s mission, Other duties as assigned by the director.
