* Figures are calculated from data sets that consist of a sample of airline tickets reported by US air carriers. DB1B is a 10% sample size and DB1C is a 40% sample size. For some states, the sample includes only a handful of tickets to Hawaii each quarter. As a result, median fares calculated from the sample can be volatile from one quarter to the next for states with a small sample.
