* These figures are calculated from a data set that consists of a 10% sample of airline tickets reported by US air carriers. For some states, the sample includes only a handful of tickets to Hawaii each quarter. As a result, median fares calculated from the sample can be volatile from one quarter to the next for states with a small sample.
