JoonYup is an applied microeconomist interested in urban and real estate economics. His research focuses on addressing housing affordability and residential segregation in major U.S. cities. His recent work explores how improving access to higher-opportunity neighborhoods for low-income and minority households affects residential equilibrium and household welfare. JoonYup completed his Ph.D. in Economics at Duke University. Previously, he worked at the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School and earned his B.A. in Mathematical Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
