Native forests provide a diverse array of ecological, cultural, and economic benefits. UHERO environment has worked with decision makers in various contexts to evaluate the economic benefits of native forest protection and restoration, primarily through a focus on groundwater recharge. This has been done in the context of land-use planning, calculating a return on investment of conservation, and spatial targeting of conservation actions. See a summary of UHERO research here.
